Games made with AI in 2026: 7 that look like real games
A Dark Souls-style RPG, Minecraft in the browser, a Fortnite copy built from one prompt. Here are the most impressive games people built with AI this year, what they were made with, and how you can build your own.

Short answer: in 2026 people are building full 3D games with AI in hours: a Dark Souls-style RPG, Minecraft in the browser, a Fortnite copy from one prompt, a Spider-Man-style city and a whole fishing game. Most of the standout ones were made with Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5. Below are seven, with links to the creators' own posts.
1. The Ashen Gate: A Dark Souls-style action RPG
A third-person Souls-like with real melee combat and level design in an ash-covered gothic ruin, including a boss fight. Shared as one of the creator's early-access experiments with Claude Opus 5.5.

2. Lumen Vale: Minecraft in the browser
A browser Minecraft with generated terrain from beaches to mountains, rippling water and day and night lighting, built in about 1.5 hours of prompting.

3. Fortnite Replica: A Fortnite-style battle royale
A third-person battle royale with building and shooting. The creator says Opus 5.5 built it in one prompt.

4. Symbiote City: A Spider-Man-style superhero game
Web-swinging through a city with a symbiote suit, made with Three.js and Blender. The creator says every 3D model, texture and animation was made from scratch with Opus 5.5.

5. Tidewater: A tropical island fishing game
Cast from the pier, the beach or your own boat, fight 18 fish species on a line-tension meter, sell the catch and upgrade your gear. Every commit in its repository is co-authored by Claude Opus 5.5.

6. Lagoon Tree Village: An explorable world
A huge desert oasis village built into giant trees around a turquoise lagoon, from a seven-hour-plus agent session with Three.js.

7. Pelican Bike Ride: A coastal cycling game
Pedal a pelican along a coastal road through a full day and night cycle. The README says it was built in Claude Code from one sentence with zero human edits.

What these games have in common
- They run in the browser. Most use Three.js or WebGL, so a link is all you need to play.
- They're iterated, not one-shot (mostly). A few came from a single prompt; the best ones took hours of play, feedback and fixes.
- Assets are made in code. Many use no image or sound files at all: shapes, materials, particles and sounds are generated by code.
Can you make one too?
Yes, and your first one takes about 15 minutes. Our step-by-step tutorial gives you the exact prompt: how to make a game with AI (Claude). Want an engine game for Steam instead? Claude can now drive Unreal Engine 5.8 and Unity directly.

Which AI is best for making games?
In the community showcases of September and October 2026, the most impressive browser games were made with Claude Opus 5.5. Cheaper models such as DeepSeek work for simple games at a fraction of the cost.
Are there games made with AI on Steam?
Yes. Steam allows games that use AI-generated content as long as the developer discloses it in Valve's content survey when submitting the game.
Can AI make a whole game by itself?
AI can write all the code and many of the assets, but the best results come from a person who plays, gives clear feedback and asks for one change at a time.
